Friday May 9, 10:45am [ Zimbabwe Christian College , Harare , Zimbabwe ]

This is the entrance to the college. It is a small, beautiful campus

From the Mange’s, we went to Zimbabwe Christian College (ZCC) so that we could look around a bit and Rick could speak at the chapel service beginning at 10:00am. The first thing we saw was several brick layers and piles of brick being taken to put up walls of a new structure on campus.

Construction for the new library at ZCC

We met the president and he said that the new library was being build. The president of the college toured us around an academic building, sanctuary, and administration building.

The sanctuary building where the Harare Christain church meets as well

Going into the administration building

We saw a few offices and had some tea and bread in the administration building.

Melissa sends an email back to the states that we arrived safely

Irene and Melissa got access to a networked computer and were able to send out an email explaining our safe arrival to our families back home.

The staff that we met were pretty multicultural and the professors in our group were strongly encouraged to make plans to come and stay for an extended period (at least two weeks) in order to teach a class there.

Rick spoke at the service and we sat in the back behind the students. I would guess maybe there were 25 to 30 students in attendance of the service. We didn’t stay too long because we wanted to get to the embassy.
